K’ya is an international bistro serving dinner while the Rooftop Lounge is a charmer that is open for lunch. While many bars and restaurants dot the neighborhood, the hotel has two lounges and restaurants that will provide a lot of appeal. The John Wayne Airport is 11 miles away while the Long Beach Airport is roughly 30 miles from the hotel. It is close to the Marbella Country Club, Fashion Island, and the University of California at Irvine, too. It is a short walk to the town center, Laguna Art Museum, Aliso Beach, and a long list of shopping centers. My first time to California and first time in Laguna Beach and not exactly what I envisioned my first experience would be over lunch after leaving my work conference in San Diego.La Casa del Camino sits along the Pacific Ocean in Laguna Beach, CA. This was not a place for me as I broke down and was crying due to the crying and trapped pigeons. The ones that were trapped were crying so if you can ignore these sites and sounds, maybe this place is for you. ![]() It was heartbreaking to see these birds wanting to get out from the nets and seeing other pigeons feeding the ones under the net. The waitress also said there are openings for the pigeons to get out but I guess their are some with bird brain and unable to find their way out. It must be typical protocol for the hotel to pick up the dead ones when there are no restaurant guests per the waitress. There was a dead pigeon on the other side of our neighboring table. The waitress didnt seem to be concerned as it was the hotels (La Casa del Camino) responsibility. There are trapped pigeons under your feet (deck boards) at the Rooftop Lounge and they have nets trapping them in on the outside portions of the deck. AND, the location really cannot be beat for the reasonable pricing! But, perhaps the feature that will win your heart at this hotel is the rooftop bar.brunch on Sundays is beyond wonderful.the views are probably the best in Laguna, and the atmosphere is lively and iendly staff, great, fresh food/appetizers.etc. They will do their best to accommodate you in any way! They clearly love welcoming guests and caring for their needs. And then, there's free access to a nearby health club/gym, two restaurants/bars onsite, walking distance to about any kind of restaurant/cuisine you might fancy! Oh, and I should tell you about the amazing service and incredibly friendly staff. If you don't much care for historical features, you might enjoy their perks: such as free parking, excellent free breakfast, music in the lounge in the evening, literally several steps from hotel to beach access. La Casa is the very first hotel/inn ever in Laguna Beach.built in 1927, the inn is historically famous for being THE spot for celebrities to stay as a destination or a retreat.
